Still helping through the Pandemic

Given the pandemic, we cancelled our annual Spring 2022 shoe event. That’s where we typically help several hundred of our homeless friends. But our friends still need decent shoes, socks, and other essential items. So, we are now helping on the streets, with Officer Jim Barrett, delivering decent footwear, ponchos, sleeping bags, toiletries, meals and most of all–some hope.

Winter 2019-2020

On a freezing morning, we helped 404 people in need at our winter event. We could not have done it without help from our awesome volunteers and the support of UConn, Hartford and UConn Alumni, students, faculty and staff.  UConn, Hartford hosted the event at its beautiful Student Center. Go Huskies! Also, deepest appreciation to our partners at Fleet Feet West Hartford, Hartford Police (cadets and recruits, too), Connecticut Podiatric Medical Association, St. Francis Podiatric Surgical Residents and surgeons. Special thanks again to the Hartford County Bar Association Foundation, Hartford Hospital, North Central Region of the Episcopal Church, University of Hartford, Dattco, Starbucks, Trinity College, Foodshare,  ServePro of Newington, St. Timothy’s Church and Hartford Bags of Love.

Through the winter months, we continue to help people in need.
